Amateur Radio Packet Status on ISS

In December 2003, the ISS crew installed a new Amateur Radio project called Phase-2 hardware. The heart of the new project is a Kenwood D700 transceiver. The new radio supports operations on the 2-meter band (145Mhz) and the 70 centimeter band (434 MHz). The radio also included a built-in Modem (called a TNC).

The new packet system was activated on December 22, 2003

The call sign for the Unproto Digi-Repeater is currently RS0ISS-4
